The boxes are all "safety deposit boxes" and the images are stage actors from the late 1800's, early 1900"s. I use these personas because of there non-expressions. My intentions are for the viewers to interact with the piece in order to give them life. With no expressions on the faces the viewers have many options on how to construct this persona before them. The interaction between viewer and painting is what I'm interested in. Also, how that interaction is responsible for the construction of the piece and in-turn the construction of the individual defining it. Meaning that by the viewer’s interaction with the piece, he or she defines it and in-turn the piece is defining them.
