Although there has been a municipal collection in Albury since 1947 the gallery on the present site only opened in 1981. The former Albury Town Hall built in 1908 was converted over a three year period into the Albury Regional Art Centre as it was then known. The architect for the work was Robert Stynes who was awarded a citation for his work on the renovation. |
