Charest-Weinberg Gallery, located in the heart of Miami’s burgeoning Wynwood Arts District, is among an elite group of Miami’s premiere contemporary arts venues, both private and institutional. Born in New York City, Eric Charest-Weinberg – at 25, a young gallerist by any standard – first apprenticed in Montreal where he was raised. Immediately thereafter, Eric became sole proprietor of his own successful gallery/experimental laboratory in Key West.
Charest-Weinberg’s core philosophy is most evident in his steadfast commitment to mount solo presentations of his artists on an international stage. Rather than revealing an immediate, total glimpse of the gallery’s entire program, Charest-Weinberg will concentrate on four exhibitions a year, each in excess of two months, in order to better familiarize the public with each artist’s unique sensibility. With the massive proliferation of galleries and the increasing demands of a fully global art calendar, Eric is adamant in his belief that longer exhibitions are the key to sparking an open-ended and on-going dialog with the local Miami arts community.
