Joan Miró
Spain, b. 1893 – d. 1983
Joan Miró (1893–1983) was a renowned Catalan painter, sculptor, printmaker, and ceramist, and one of the leading figures of Surrealism alongside Salvador Dalí. Influenced by Fauvism and Cubism, he developed a distinctive style that combined abstract forms, vivid primary colors, and a playful, almost childlike visual language to explore the subconscious and the natural world.
