Gustavo Acosta was born in Havana, Cuba in 1958. Gustavo Acosta studied at the acclaimed School of Visual Arts San Alejandro. The architectural themes throughout Acosta’s artwork challenge the viewer’s perception of the physical reality of the present and illusory memory of the past. The recipient of numerous awards, Acosta has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the United States and abroad. His works are part of the permanent collections of Miami’s Lowe Art Museum, the Nassau County Museum of Art in New York, and the Cuban Heritage Collection of the University of Miami.
