Luis Tomasello

Argentina, 1915


Luis Tomasello was born in La Plata, Argentina in 1915. Tomasello studied at the National School of Fine Arts with Prilidiano Pueyrradon and at the Ernesto de La Carcova Superior School of Painting in Buenos Aires. In 1951, Tomasello traveled to Europe for his first study trip and he moved permanently to Paris in 1957. Throughout this time, Tomasello was involved with different groups that were influenced by de Stijl and Bauhaus movements. Tomasello has exhibited throughout Europe, Canada, Japan, South America, Central America, and the United States. In 1965, Tomasello’s work was included in The Responsive Eye, an exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
