about

Galería Cayón was founded in December 2005. The inaugural exhibition of Picasso's Monotypes and prints of the 20s, 30s and 40s made with funds from the artist's succession, indicated, from the beginning, the international vocation of the gallery and the idea of making novel exhibitions or outside the usual program, both within the primary and secondary markets. Although from the beginning one of the lines of work in which the gallery has most insisted has been space as a problem and solution for artists, it has also been interested in exhibitions, individual or collective, that still outside this line, have seemed contributions that were worth offering. Thus he has exhibited the work of artists such as Josef Albers and Robert Rauschenberg or Andy Warhol, for example. Currently, the Cayón Gallery line continues this space research (which highlights the collaboration, representation or presence in the exhibitions of minimal artists such as Carl Andre, to whom the gallery exhibited in 2011, Fred Sandback or David Rabinowitch) and art conceptual or neo-conceptual fundamentally Latin American (with artists such as Marco Maggi or Marti Cormand).
